Requirements

Mac: Apple silicon (M1 or newer), macOS 13 Ventura or later
DAW: FL Studio 24 or newer. FL Studio 2026 recommended.
AI: A paid ChatGPT plan (Go, Plus or Pro), a Gemini API key (free tier available) or a Claude API key. The offline composer needs nothing.
Price: Free. Donations optional.

Install

Open the downloaded file and drag Veloura into Applications.
Open Veloura. It walks you through the MIDI ports and the one FL script it needs.
Continue with ChatGPT, or add a Gemini or Claude key.

If it won't connect to FL

Quit FL Studio and Veloura.
Open Veloura first, then FL Studio.
Open your project and go straight to the Piano Roll.
Link the bridge: Tools › Scripts › veloura_bridge.

Is Veloura Beta really free?

Yes. The download is free and donations are optional. AI use counts toward your paid ChatGPT plan, runs on Gemini's free tier, or costs from about $0.004 a beat with a Claude key.

Is the beta the real Veloura?

No. Veloura Beta is a free early version. The official Veloura is a separate paid app that comes later, and beta users hear about it first inside the app. There's no price or date yet.

Does it work with free ChatGPT?

No. OpenAI refuses free accounts, so ChatGPT sign-in needs Go, Plus or Pro. For a free option, use a Gemini API key on Google's free tier (not available in the EEA, UK or Switzerland), or the offline composer.

Which ChatGPT plan should I get?

Any paid plan works. Ranked worst to best for Veloura: Go (cheapest, lowest limits), Plus ($20 a month, the one we test on), Business, Enterprise or Edu (not tested yet), and Pro (highest limits). Bigger plans let you make more beats before hitting limits.

Does it make audio or MIDI?

MIDI. Veloura writes notes into the Piano Roll and steps into the Channel Rack, played by sounds and kits you already have.

Can I release what I make?

Veloura claims no ownership of what you make. Clearing any samples you use is up to you, and your AI provider's terms also apply.

Windows or Intel Macs?

Not yet. The beta runs on Macs with Apple silicon.

Is Veloura Beta made by Image-Line?

No. Veloura Beta is an independent app that works with FL Studio through FL's scripting features. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Image-Line.

Where do donations go?

Straight to the solo developer behind Veloura, through a third-party payment page. Donations are optional, don't unlock anything, and keep the free beta updated.

Veloura Beta is free to download and use. It is beta software, provided as is. It may have bugs, change without notice, or stop working. Back up your projects. Its source code is published by Valenti Labs under the MIT License, which also applies to the code.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older.

3. Your AI account and costs

Veloura Beta connects to an AI account you choose (ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini). You pay that provider directly and follow its terms. Valenti Labs isn't responsible for your AI charges or plan limits.

4. FL Studio

Veloura Beta controls parts of FL Studio while it works. Save your projects first. FL Studio is a trademark of Image-Line Software. Veloura Beta is not affiliated with or endorsed by Image-Line.

5. What you make

Valenti Labs claims no ownership of music, MIDI or patterns you create. You're responsible for the rights to samples and sounds you use. AI output can be imperfect and may resemble existing music, so check what you release.

7. Tips

Donations through Gumroad are voluntary, non-refundable except as Gumroad's policies require, and don't buy any extra features, support or future products.

The app: your prompts and the project details Veloura needs (tempo, key, channel names, parts it wrote) go straight from your Mac to the AI provider you pick. Valenti Labs doesn't receive them.
Sign-ins and keys: stored in your Mac's Keychain. Never sent to Valenti Labs.
Updates: the app checks GitHub for new versions, which shares your IP address with GitHub.
Downloads: the app file is served from GitHub, which sees your IP address like any download host.
Donations: handled by Gumroad under its own privacy policy. Valenti Labs never sees your card details.
This website: no accounts or tracking cookies. The only form is the feedback form.
Feedback form: sent through Formspree, which stores what you type. The email field is optional and used only to reply to you.
